What is the meaning of IPC 326?
Voluntarily Causing Grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means.Section 326 IPC, defines as the punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt to any person by using any deadly weapons or other dangerous means.
IPC 326 as defined under the Code reads as,
Whoever, except in the case provided for by section 335, voluntarily causes grievous hurt by means of any instrument for shooting, stabbing, or cutting, or any instrument which, used as a weapon of offence, is likely to cause death, or by means of fire or any heated substance, or by means of any explosive substance, or by means of any substance which it is deleterious to the human body to inhale, to swallow, or to receive into the blood, or by means of any animal, shall be punished with imprisonment for life, or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
IPC 326A - causing grievous hurt by acid or Any explosive means. Under this provision, if there is any damage either permanent or temporary to any part of the body or there is grievous hurt caused to any person either by administering, pouring or throwing acid on any person with conscious feeling and intention of knowing the harm likely to be caused by such an act, shall be awarded punishment of either a term of at least 10 years or life imprisonment and with fine.
IPC 326B - voluntarily or attempting to throw acid or any explosives means. Under S. 326B, whoever causes injury either completely or partially to any body part or if there is any life threatening damage caused to any person by attempting to throw acid shall be awarded punishment of a either term of at least 5 years or an extension to 7 years with fine.

Is IPC 326 bailable?
The Offenses committed under IPC 326 are Cognizable and non-bailable, triable by Magistrate of the first class.
What is the punishment for IPC 326 Case?
The punishment for IPC 326 is Imprisonment for Life or 10 Years + Fine.
The term of punishment for section 326A is punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than 10 years and may be extended to life imprisonment and fine is to be paid to the victim. These cases are cognizable and non-bailable, triable by Court of Sessions.
Whereas, an offence under section 326B is punishable with imprisonment for 5 years, but may be extended to 7 years with fine. These are cognizable and non-bailable offences which shall be tried by the Court of Sessions.
How do you get bail in IPC 326?
But one can apply for a bail as it is the fundamental right of every person. Your advocate has to apply for the bail and court after referring the bail application, FIR and statements will grant the bail and based upon the allegations on accused the bail is granted.
You can also file bail application before sessions court or High court if magistrate denies the bail.
